Eng. Mohamed S. Aglan, BSc. Electrical Power Engineering and Military Sciences (1994), is an accomplished entrepreneur and engineer with a remarkable career spanning over two decades.
After completing his bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1994, Aglan embarked on his professional journey, driven by a desire to make a difference. In 1997, he co-founded TOPTECH Egypt, a pioneering technology company that aimed to revolutionize the Egyptian market. As the Chairman of TOPTECH Egypt, Aglan played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and driving its growth. With a collaborative effort with the management team, TOPTECH Egypt rapidly emerged as a leading ICT system integrator providing cutting-edge technological solutions, catering to a diverse range of industries.
In 2004, Aglan worked with the team to lead a strategic plan to transform TOPTECH from a retail-market focused organization into one that catered to small-to-medium corporate clients. This shift in market segmentation allowed the company to tap into new opportunities and expand its customer base. In line with this strategic vision, TOPTECH shifted focus from being a small/medium solutions provider to a system integrator for medium-sized corporates in 2007. This strategic shift enabled the company to offer comprehensive technology solutions and services to its clients, further solidifying its position in the market.
In 2015, Aglan oversaw a strategic realignment, emphasizing mega-projects for large corporates and supporting the Egyptian government’s digital transformation initiatives. This strategic realignment allowed TOPTECH to contribute significantly to the country’s technological advancement and establish itself as a trusted partner for major corporations and government entities.
Recognizing the need for an optimized organizational structure, Aglan and the management team, implemented a restructuring plan in 2018 to transform TOPTECH from a flat structure into a hierarchical organizational model. This Change Management enhanced communication channels, streamlined decision-making processes, and improved overall operational efficiency within the company.
Forward looking, Aglan envisions expanding TOPTECH’s presence in the MEA (Middle East and Africa) region. With a business plan in place for 2023-2024, the company will leverage its expertise and experience to capture new market opportunities and establish itself as a leading technology provider in the region.
