Successful Relocation Services by TOPTECH for Egyptian Company for Information Technology and Tracking: A Case Study

This case study presents the successful relocation services provided by TOPTECH to an Egyptian Company for Information Technology and Tracking. The Scope of Work (SOW) involved the relocation of the E-Visa infrastructure, including the staging area in Smart Village and various key locations such as Sharm el Sheikh Airport, Rafah Border Crossing Port, Taba Border Crossing Port, and the general department of passports, immigration, and Nationality in Abasia, along with its Disaster Recovery (DR) location in South Cairo.

The Egyptian Company for Information Technology and Tracking is a leading organization responsible for managing the E-Visa system in Egypt. Ensuring smooth operations and uninterrupted access to E-Visa services is vital for both national security and facilitating streamlined travel processes.

The client faced numerous challenges leading to the need for relocation services. Some of the critical challenges included:

a. Increased traffic: The existing E-Visa infrastructure struggled to handle the growing volume of visa applications received daily, resulting in delays and system performance issues.
b. Geographic limitations: The infrastructure’s location in the staging area of Smart Village limited its efficiency in serving various key locations, including airports and border crossings.
c. Disaster recovery concerns: The absence of a reliable DR location posed a significant risk to the overall continuity of E-Visa operations.

TOPTECH was tasked with providing end-to-end relocation services to achieve the following objectives:

a. Relocate the E-Visa infrastructure from the staging area in Smart Village to strategic locations, including Sharm el Sheikh Airport, Rafah Border Crossing Port, and Taba Border Crossing Port.
b. Establish a central E-Visa infrastructure at the general department of passports, immigration, and nationality in Abasia.
c. Create a resilient Disaster Recovery (DR) location in South Cairo to ensure business continuity in case of any unforeseen incidents.

TOPTECH implemented a comprehensive relocation plan to address the client’s requirements. The following steps outline the solution provided:

a. Site Assessment: A team of TOPTECH experts conducted an in-depth assessment of the existing infrastructure and identified potential challenges and bottlenecks.
b. Infrastructure Planning: Based on the assessment, a robust and scalable infrastructure plan was devised to accommodate current and future needs, ensuring seamless operations.
c. Logistics and Transportation: TOPTECH managed all aspects of logistics and transportation to safely relocate the E-Visa infrastructure from the staging area in Smart Village to the designated locations, including airports, border crossings, and Abasia.
d. Installation and Configuration: Once the infrastructure was successfully transported, TOPTECH experts conducted installation and configuration processes at each location, ensuring optimal performance and integration with existing systems.
e. Disaster Recovery Setup: TOPTECH established a dedicated DR location in South Cairo, implementing a robust backup and restoration solution to ensure business continuity and data protection.

TOPTECH relocation service included insurance coverage against inland road risks and engineering all risks. This coverage was implemented to protect ETIT’s critical equipment from any unforeseen events, such as accidents, theft, natural disasters, and damages during transportation or reinstallation.

The relocation services provided by TOPTECH yielded significant results and benefits for the client:

a. Enhanced Efficiency: The E-Visa infrastructure’s relocation to strategic locations enabled faster processing times, reduced bottlenecks, and improved overall system performance.
b. Seamless Operations: The establishment of a central E-Visa infrastructure at the general department of passports, immigration, and nationality in Abasia allowed for streamlined operations and better coordination.
c. Business Continuity: The creation of a resilient DR location in South Cairo ensured that the E-Visa system remained operational even in case of unforeseen incidents, offering uninterrupted services to end-users.
